"Not just a time piece but a piece of time." Those are the words of Ryan Beltran, half of the brother team of Ryan and Andrew Beltran who founded Original Grain Watches in 2013. These brothers were raised in the Pacific Northwest and grew up with a deep appreciation of the majestic trees all around them. They set up to create a line of watches that would differentiate itself from others in that category.
What makes Original Grain watches so unique is that they are made from reclaimed wood such as old whiskey barrels, seats from the Old Yankee Stadium, and other beautiful reclaimed woods such as rosewood and zebra wood. But their desire to give back by using reclaimed wood didn't stop there. They also forged a partnership with Trees for the Future, a project in Senegal, Africa dedicated to planting trees to help rebuild degraded land. Trees for the Future plants trees of all types to provide food, livestock feed, fuel wood and products to sell. For for every watch sold, Original Grain plants a tree through Trees for the Future.
These watches are unique, their story is unique, and this company's commitment to making the world a better place is profound. When you purchase an Original Grain watch, you're not just buying a really cool watch made of reclaimed wood, you are participating in a philosophy of giving back to the environment and helping people in need. What a great feeling!
